Keeping the ‘X’ in Xmas

Atheist Kitteh finds UR prayers cute but ultimately futile

As we all know, the word Xmas is a venerable version of Christmas, with the X representing Christ. However, “Keep the Christ in Christmas” campaigns have engendered a certain amount of snark, such as this quasi-prayer from Gyeong Hwa Pak:

Lets pray for the day when Christ becomes synomynous with peace, love, the voiceless velar fricative, the voiceless uvelar fricative and any statistical hypothesis test in which the sampling distribution of the test statistic is a chi-square distribution when the null hypothesis is true. Amen.

Jules has added some ritual:

Lets pray for the day when Christ becomes synomynous with peace, love, the voiceless velar fricative, the voiceless uvelar fricative and any statistical hypothesis test in which the sampling distribution of the test statistic is a chi-square distribution when the null hypothesis is true. Amen.

*empty religious hand gesture* Amen.
