The Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation is a private organization staffed by volunteers who rescue and rehabilitate injured raptors back to the wild. Raptors include hawks, falcons, eagles, and owls. They work with the Alberta Fish & Wildlife Division. Those that can’t be rehabilitated stay at the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre. Orphaned birds are sometimes raised by the resident birds.
They encourage the preservation and restoration of wildlife habitat, facilitate captive breeding and release of endangered species, and monitor wild populations.
