Religulous producers lied to make film

The movie attempts to show religions in a ridiculous light, and mostly it succeeds, but the producers didn’t take a straightforward approach.

Bill Maher admits that he and the film’s producers used a fake name for their film to put people whom they interviewed off guard.

“We never, ever, used my name. We never told anybody it was me who was going to do the interviews. We even had a fake title for the film. We called it ‘A Spiritual Journey.’

That’s dishonest and they should be ashamed of themselves.

One more reason to give the film a pass. There’s something about Maher that turns me off. I’ve seen a number of his rants and really enjoyed them, but somehow I’m getting signals that it’s just an act. Same with Hitchens, BTW.
