“Blue Collar Scientist” has died

Science blogger Jeff Medkeff, writing as “Blue Collar Scientist,” has succumbed to cancer after a short illness. He wrote lucid, thoughtful posts and I’ll miss him.

He took the new science blogging tradition of liveblogging your experience to the limit with his new blog, “Yucatangee Eventually Shuts Up: Information and ramblings from a 39 year-old guy with hepatocellular carcinoma.”

It’s that time of year again. The anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, with their horrific toll of civilian deaths, devastating burns, and lingering radiation sickness, are upon us again.
