Treasure trove of dodo bones

A trove of dodo bones about 2,000 years old has been found, along with remains of other animals and plants from the same era. Follow the link for details. We do not have a complete dodo skeleton, so I hope that these will enable scientists to reconstruct one.

Here’s a link to some natural history of the dodo.

` Isn’t it funny? All the old paintings and descriptions of dodos and nobody can agree what they looked like?

I’d always heard that the last complete skeleton was “destroyed by fire” and thought that meant it was an accident; but apparently the remains were not interesting enough to keep and were incinerated!
