Google Maps Pedometer is a mashup of Google Maps. You go to the site and find your starting place by zooming in on a map. Then you double-click at your starting point. Everywhere you make a turn, double-click again to make a joint in your path. your latest turning point moves to the centre of the map and you can double-click for your next marker. You can zoom in as far as the map allows or zoom out to take “big steps.” You can turn on or off mile or kilometer markers, elevation display, and even a calorie counter.
If you’re going out and back on the same route, map it one way and then click “Complete return journey” and the route is doubled back for you.
Here’s my second day at Cyclon 2008 weekend, mapped with Gmaps Pedometer, with miles marked. Did I mention that you can store the routes?

Take a look at Treksee to map your route:

You can save a home position so you always start conveniently zoomed in to the right place. You can also save and share your routes.
